CFS1,CFS2 and FS2002 Nieuport 17, as flown by Charles Nungesser in Escadrille N65 Nungesser became a pilot in March, 1915 and was assigned to Escadrille Voisin 106 at Avord. He then moved up to Nieuport fighters This Nieuport 17 was flown by Charles Nungesser in 1916. He decorated the fuselage of his plane with a heart containing skull, crossed bones, a coffin, and candles. This is the 2gun fighter. Despite terrible injuries, Nungesser achieved ten victories in the battle of Verdun. At the end of the great war, his final score would be 43 enemy planes.
