Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium is a multipurpose stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia which is part of the Bung Karno Sports Complex sports complex. This stadium is generally used as an arena for international football matches. The stadium is named in honor of Soekarno, the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, who is also the figure who sparked the idea of building this sports complex. In the context of de-Soekarnoization, during the New Order, the name of this stadium was changed to Senayan Main Stadium through a Presidential Decree No. 4/1984
