Airport Baratayevka – Ulyanovsk (UWLL). Russian: АО «Аэропорт Ульяновск», Международный аэропорт Ульяновск (Баратаевка) им. Н. М. Карамзина (IATA: ULV, ICAO: UWLL) is an airport in Russia located 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) southwest of Ulyanovsk. It generally operates as a civilian/transport base. Towards the end of the Cold War there has been an OVTAP (Independent Military Transport Aviation Regiment) located on the field with Ilyushin Il-76 and Antonov An-22 aircraft. During April 2013, a terminal remodel was completed to accommodate a steady increase in passenger traffic to the area, resulting from increased corporate investment in the Ulyanovsk area. Ulyanovsk Aircraft Museum is located near the airport, exposition includes the Tupolev Tu-144 supersonic aircraft (reg. no. SSSR-77110). Baratayevka Airport is capable of receiving planes and helicopters of all types, has runways: with artificial coating (IVPP) magnetic course 019-199°, size 3100×45 m, coating surface – 64/R/C/X/T; the emergency ground (GVPP) magnetic course 019-199 °, measuring 2500 × 100 m, is located 90 m west of the IVPP and parallel to it, is designed for emergency landing of aircraft of all types; the ground (GVPP) for receiving and releasing category A aircraft (AN-2, AN-28, L-410 and similar aircraft, as well as helicopters of all types) magnetic course 109-289 °, 800 × 60 m in size, is located in the northwestern part of the airfield. The airfield is a round-the-clock operation, designed to perform transport, training, training and research flights. UIGA (Ulyanovsk Institute of Civil Aviation) is based at the airfield, which operates Austrian modern aircraft types: DA-40NG, DA-42 for training purposes of training pilots of the GA.Developer – x-flight
