S-2A VISTA (Versatile Internal Systems Testing Aircraft) Based on the XSF-37A Aurora and used to test the next generation of pilot – plane interface systems the S-2A has two improved engines and revised aerodynamics. “Versatile” because it can fly with any new system without redesigning the airframe completely. “Internal Systems” because all the systems are related to electronics: cockpit gauges, on board computer, etc. “Testing Aircraft” because it’s only used for testing systems.
