This is a repaint of Alphasim payware B-24D Liberator “The Sandman”. B-24D-55-CO Serial Number 42-40402 9th AF, 98th BG, 345th BS. Robert Sternfels flew the Sandman on the famous 1943 Ploesti raid. The Sandman is pictured in a well known photo of a B-24 just clearing the oil refinery smoke stacks. The plane hit a barrage ballon cable but was able to return to base in North Africa.
