FS2000 Curtiss June Bug. Curtiss Arodrome number 3 or “June Bug” as it was christened, first flew in 1908 and between 21 June and 31 August of that year, succeeded in making more than 30 take-offs, mainly in the hands of Glenn Curtiss and McCurdy. Curtiss was awarded the Scientific American Journal’s prize for the first officially recognised flight of over 1km on 4th July 1908 in this aircraft. The flight took 1 minute 42.5 seconds.
