FHAW – RAF Ascension Island/ Wideawake Airfield.
This isn’t in the sim, not surprising considering how shocking Bing’s imagery is, I guess they couldn’t be bothered to focus the satellite that day.
Made from scratch and largely freehand and this may well show. This is a work in progress and it has proven REALLY hard to find any imagery of the base at all.
The main issue with this at the moment is topology. In the sim the original site is completely flat. It certainly isn’t in reality. I’ve attempted to replicate the runway’s famous hump but I need more references to get it right. The hills to the side of the runway also are a tad basic right now.
I still have plenty to learn so things like approaches, ATC, ground services, better hills etc all need work, or may not work at all.
