Frankfurter Waldstadion
The Waldstadion is a football stadium in Frankfurt am Main. It is located in the city forest in the Sachsenhausen district. The stadium, which opened in 1925 and has since been modernized several times, was rebuilt from 2002 to 2005 as a pure soccer stadium without an athletics facility and was inaugurated on June 15, 2005 with the opening game of the FIFA Confederations Cup, Germany versus Australia. With a capacity of 51,500 spectators, it is one of the ten largest football stadiums in Germany.
