Welcome to Camrose Alberta!
Camrose is located about 32 nm southeast of Edmonton International. The airport has a 4500 foot paved runway with RNAV and NDB approaches. Because of its proximity to CYEG, pilots must obtain IFR clearance to transit the airspaces or stay under the class bravo and charlie. Usually when transiting VFR to Cooking Lake 3500 feet is used.
I used to live in Camrose for many years and in some respects, I still think of it as my home town. Some of my fondest memories were the annual fly-in breakfasts at the airport. Many different types of aircraft would all fly in and converge on Camrose to land at an uncontrolled airfield for bacon and eggs and tons of flying talk with pilots and non pilots. It was a great time, and the departures were awesome too! The highlight of the event was always Blaine Fowler’s F4U corsair.
I have rebuilt this airport using all stock stuff inside the SDK. I hope you enjoy flying in here!
