EDDI Berlin Tempelhof – Complete v1.0
I enjoy flying the PMDG DC-6 in a USAF livery using a mission generator. Many of my flights are to and from Berlin and my airport of choice was Tempelhof as Brandenburg is too modern and was of course in the old Russian sector of Berlin.
As of SU6 Microsoft deleted the airport which closed in 2008 but thanks to Superspud it was possible to fly to the airport again, albeit without any aids.
Superspud very generously provided his project files to enable development of the scenery and this is my result.
I have retextured the runways, apron and taxiways, removed the modern solar panels and buildings on the north east apron.
Most parking spots have been added including 2 under canopy stands.
Runway 9R/27L has approach lighting, PAPI and ILS added. Runway 9L/27R has a 3.7deg PAPI.The runway information is from 2001 data
The VOR TOF has been added along with two approach NDB.
NOTE the parking and taxiways are not yet connected to ATC so you won’t get taxi information. There are some annoying lights near runway 9L/27R and the East taxiway that are part of the MSFS imagery and would take major work to remove;Sorry.
I would recommend you also install the Berlin Tempelhof scenery by Tribalowski which provides the iconic curved terminal building/hangars with canopy.
INSTALLATION
Delete any existing airport-eddi-tempelhof directory and extract the two files in the zip (airport-eddi-tempelhof and berlin-vor} to your Community Folder.
Once again many thanks to Superspud for reinstating the airport
