ETEB- Katterbach Army Airfield, Germany v1.0
Intro: The intent of this project was to closely model this United States Army airfield and facilities resembling it’s appearance in the 2006-2010 timeframe, while adding a fictional longer fixed wing runway next to the current 1,212′ helicopter runway 08/26; with a seperate civilian facility fenced off from Army facilities to roleplay civilian access to partially opened airfield and for better use within FS2020 and FSEconomy. The entire airfield is able to be utilized with FSEconomy under airport code ETEB. Custom UH-60 and CH-47 helicopter static models have been added to the military parking ramp with available starting positions within the sim, on both the military and cilivilan sides of the airfield. I hope you enjoy this recreation and fictional adaptation of this airfield.
Description: Katterbach Army Airfield (AAF) is a United States Army facility in Germany, located in the village of Katterbach, about 3 miles northeast of Ansbach (Bavaria); about 80 miles northwest of Munich. Construction by the German Luftwaffe began in 1935 and was completed 1938. Around 1949 the site was taken over and designated as a NATO facility controlled by the Unites States Army. The facility was occupied by numerous entities before becoming a combat helicopter airfield in 1977, which it remains today. The 1st Infantry Division Aviation units were the primary tenants of the Airfield until 2006, when the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade was activated and assigned to Katterbach. The Kaserne is currently home to 5-158 Aviation Regiment (GSAB), 3-158 Aviation Regiment (AASLT), and 412th Aviation Support Battalion (ASB).
Installation:
To view all objects, unzip and copy to you FS2020 “Community” folder both files: 1) “ETEB- Katterbach AAF” for the airfield & 2) “itemstatics” to ensure the UH-60 and CH-47 models are populated on the ramp.
Dependancy: In order to display a helipad on top of the Kaserne’s high school, now serving as a fictional clinic; the Monaco Heliport LNMC by t0kenkiwi must be installed.
