Farsund Lista AB v1.0
Lista airport is very much WW2. The first airport was made during WW2 with a runway made of oiled planks, which killed more pilots from takeoff and landings than actual air combat. Later a new runway was made further inland, record breaking 70 meters wide, as Lista was a forefront airport towards England. The old aircraft shelters are still there for those who know where to look. Later today’s 3000m runway was made for NATO money. It is crossing the old WW2 runway no.2. There are quite a few WW2 hangars left, as they were made with such quality there was no reason to remove them, but simply use them. My scenery reflects this. I have used a lot of time carefully shooting alle the WW2 and NATO buildings with my SLR in order to get realistic textures. So here it is, Fasund Lista… an airport that have given me a lot of joy Cold War times, seeing Draken, Viggen, Harriers, Buccaneers eating grass (those define low-flying), and being there myself overhauling 12.7 flak guns NATO times. Lista is closed these days… but there is a lively microplane club there.
