Port Browning – XCPB1 v1.0
Welcome to beautiful North Pender Island. I’ve (sort of) reactivated the landing strip at Port Browning (about 10 nm northeast of Victoria, BC) to make it easier to access the town itself. It’s got a bit of an uphill slope and goes into rising terrain so it’s pretty much one-way-in, one-way-out only. Also there’s still logging going on in the area so watch for equipment. For any of you that are heli equipped, there is a helipad at the threshold of the runway. If you find yourself out after dark, there’s even a chance a local can light some barrel-fires for you though I don’t actually recommend landing here after sunset. Oh and watch for birds. It’s a common island hazard
As before, this is a real strip given an appriopriate fake ident as I couldn’t find the actual one it used to have.
