SLUY – La Joya Andina International Airport – Potosi, Bolivia v1.0
La Joya Andina International Airport (IATA: UYU, ICAO: SLUY) is an airport in Bolivia located northwest of the city of Uyuni, in the southwest of the country, and is located near the Salar de Uyuni. It was inaugurated by Bolivian President Evo Morales on July 11, 2011 and is currently operated by the airlines Amaszonas, Transporte Aéreo Militar and Boliviana de Aviación, offering regular flights to and from Sucre, La Paz, Rurrenabaque and Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
The airport has a paved runway 4,000 meters long and 45 meters wide, making it the airport with the second longest runway in Bolivia;2 it also has two aprons and a terminal built on approximately 2,000 square meters, a runway lighting system and a control tower communications system.
