Woodcock Aerodrome British Columbia CBQ8 v1.0
Woodcock aerodrome is located along the Skeena River between Terrace and Smithers. Although it is mostly neglected having no maintenance, it is there (but totally forgotten in msfs2020) and still listed in the Canada Flight Supplement. I suspect it was built during the war, and used for emergencies and training. There is a para-drop area adjacent to the runway.
I have decided to bring it back and give it a new life, as for those of us who fly or have flown the VFR routes in this area know it could be an important place to keep in mind if you ever have an engine out.
There’s about 2300 feet of usable runway, but in real life the surface is in poor shape. There could be animals wandering across the runway as well.
I’m happy to bring it back. I think part of the problem was poor satellite imagery of the area.
Anyhow, enjoy CBQ8 on your VFR trips between Terrace and Smithers!
