Cessna 208B Bering Air v1.0
This Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX is in the livery of a real company, Bering Air.
Bering Air is a US regional air service based in Nome, Alaska, with hubs in Kotzebue and Unalakleet. They operate scheduled passenger and cargo flights seven days a week out of each hub to 32 communities along the northwest coast of Alaska.
The company have, according to their website, 10 Cessna 208B’s in their fleet – they say; “With its versatile interior layout, the turbine-powered Cessna Caravan can comfortably carry nine passengers or bulky freight in all weather conditions to most any airstrip in Alaska. Though we’ve been operating Caravans since 1995, our current fleet is being replaced with all brand new aircraft in 2015!” Either the website is not up to date, or else they still run them.
One other thing that is clear is that Bering Air are not afraid of beige. Whether its to not scare the bears or honey badgers, if everything is beige and it allows them to sneak up on stuff (just ignore the noise), or just a colour they have stuck to, I am not sure. They are welcome to use my ‘Harlequin’ design if they ever want to spice things up a little
Although you can change the tail number, the default is accurate to one of their aircraft – as is the ICAO and callsign. There is some small infidelity in the position of the carrier name – though this is simply due to to problems of bending lettering in 2 ways in 3D on a 2D surface.
I hope you like this livery – especially if you are flying up north – a shout out must go to zveig17… who requested this livery through the ‘requests’ section of this site. They also love beige.
As with all drag and drop liveries, simply unzip the folder and drag the colour folder into your communities folder. Sorry, thats a lot of the use of the word ‘folder’ but there you go… I don’t make the rules.
