Gloster Meteor Mk.8 RAAF A77-875 Meteorites v1.0
This folder contains a repaint for the freeware Gloster Meteor Mk.8 by Robert Richardson. It shows Gloster Meteor Mk 8 A77-875 of the Meteorites, the display team from No.78 (Fighter) Wing RAAF. The team was formed in August 1956 flying with three Gloster Meteor F.8 aircraft from No. 78 (Fighter) Wing based at Williamtown, N.S.W. The Meteorites aerobatic team performed its first display in September at the Williamtown’s Air Force Week. The Meteorites pilots were: Team leader, F/Lt. J.H Flemming, No.2, F/Sgt. F.P. Riley, and No.3, F/Sgt. O.R.F. Bartrop. The aircraft used were A77-870, A77-875 and A77-882. After 23 displays, in February 1957, the team was disbanded when Sabres began replacing Meteors and the team leader, Jim Flemming, was posted to the Central Flying School as a jet instructor.Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Rob Richardson.
