Bush Trip Calirado – Davis CA to Grand Junction, CO v1.0
Welcome to another Red Dawn Aviation Bush trip by Av8rThor. This time in an XCub, great climb rate for mtn. flying and a decent cruise and the ever so handy, autopilot.
For this trip you should install my KEDU, Airport Scenery package as this is the jumping off point for this x-country bush trip. Mirroring a ride I did on my motorcycle in 17 hours, a 1000 mile+ trip you will only fly six and a half hours total. This is a cross country trip to Colorado. It will take you over Sacramento, Lake Folsom, Auburn, Truckee-Tahoe, Lake Tahoe (the deepest freshwater lake), Fallon NV, the Utah desert including the Moab area and arrive across the Colorado River (thats flows to the Grand Canyon) to Grand Junction, CO. This is a trip with some weather, expect possible icing conditions over the Sierras in the Tahoe region.
Good altitudes – to Auburn first lef 3500′
To second stop 6,000′
To Truckee 8,500′
Over the hill to Nevada 9,000’+ depending on the route you choose.

The next in this series will be from Grand Junction to Seattle by way of Butte Montana and then then from Washington back to CA. When you have completed these along with myfirst bush trip (Weed to San Diego) and forthcoming San Diego to Texas (Big Bear, Las Vegas, Grande Canyon, Meteor Crater) you will have flown the entire Western United States. If you ever fly it for real, it won’t be strange to you!
