Flight Plan: Le Canal de Midi (plan de vol) – The Canal de Midi v1.0
The Canal du Midi is a French navigation channel with a division reach that has linked Toulouse to the Mediterranean Sea since the 17th century. First named “Royal Canal of Languedoc” 1, the revolutionaries renamed it in 1789 “Canal du Midi”. From the 19th century, the lateral canal à la Garonne, which doubles the Garonne from Bordeaux to Toulouse, extends the Canal du Midi to provide a waterway from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea: the set of two canals is called “Canal des Deux-Mers”. 144 Nm at 75 navigation point.
