US East Coast Bush Trip (Maine – Florida) v1.0
From pirates to presidents, pioneers to poets, learn about the varied history of the Atlantic Coast of the USA.
Visit many major eastern cities including Boston, New York and Miami.
Visit two of the most famous locations in aviation history.
Land at a range of airports from simple grass strips to International Hubs.
This bush trip in 19 legs (1,811 miles, 2,914km) starts just south of the USA/Canada border in northern Maine and takes us to the southern end of the Florida Keys at Key West. For a vast majority of our flying time, we shall be following the coast where no fewer than fourteen states share a coastline with the Atlantic Ocean.
We visit many major East Coast cities including Boston, New York and Miami as well as two of the most historic places connected to the history of Aviation, Kitty Hawk, where powered heavier-than-air flight first took place in 1903 and Cape Canaveral, where man left the earth to travel to the moon just 66 years later.
Many thanks to f99mlu for his BushMissionGen tool without which I could not have created this project and to Alexander Barthel for the excellent ‘Little Nav Map’. If you have flown one of my bush flights before, you will be pleased to know that re-fuelling now works as it should and you also have the option to have the sim’s ATC follow your journey should you choose to do so!
To run my bush flight, just unpack the ‘maine-florida’ folder from the .zip file and place it in your community folder. I hope you enjoy your trip!
