Aerovaço – Aeroclube Vale do Aço, Bom Jesus do Galho v1.1
This scenery adds the “Aerovaço – Aeroclube do Vale do Aço” to MSFS, an aerodrome situated in Bom Jesus do Galho, Minas Gerais, Brazil. This town is close to Ipatinga, an important city in the state. The airport does not exist as default in MSFS. As “Aerovaço” is now becoming an important regional ultralight and general aviation airdrome, we felt the need to implement it to the sim. The predominant runway for t/o and landings is rwy 11. This scenery was created with sistematic attention to details, such as runway lenght, width and materials. The houses nearby were created one by one respecting their real positions and approximate sizes. The trees around the airdrome were also sized to meet real-life approximate dimensions, bringing to the simulation environment the challenging landing and approach difficulty this airdrome offers. The hangars were also created to mimic real life size, colour and position, all to improve realism and immersion. The concrete runway is 500 meters long and 18 meters wide but it has a dirt escape area that climbs up a small hill after taking-off or landing from runway 11. Pictures were added here so you can compare real life airdrome and the MSFS version. The creator of this scenery is a private pilot and has some experience flying in this airdrome, so, we can assure it matches pretty close the flying experience you would go through when flying from/to “Aerovaço – Aeroclube do Vale do Aço”.
ATTENTION: The real ICAO code for “Aerovaço – Aeroclube do Vale do Aço” is “SJWA”. Unfortunetely this ICAO code is already in use by MSFS (incorrectly) and so far as we know it is still not possible to change default MSFS ICAO codes or ICAO locations. Because of that, we had to implement this airdrome using a slightly different ICAO code, which is “SJWE”. Besides that, all the other elements of this scenery and airdrome were created to meet real life environment and flying experience.
