Kitadaitojima Lighthouse – Japan v1.0
It is located on the summit of Ogonzan (74m above sea level), which is the highest on Kitadaito Island. On October 2, 1961, a typhoon caused the Lebanese-flagged cargo ship Seika (7300t) to land on the east coast of the island, and a week later, on October 9, the American cargo ship Pioneer Muse (9216t) to land on the northeast coast. For this reason, this lighthouse was built and the lighting ceremony was held on December 13, 1971.
