Köhlbrand Bridge – Hamburg v1.0
A bridge long missed by many in the MSFS is the Köhlbrand Bridge in Hamburg. With a total length of 3618 m, it spans large parts of the port and is an important arterial road between highway 1, eastern Hamburg and the container terminals in the port. It has a clear height of 53 m, so that even large ships can easily pass under it.
The bridge was completed in 1974 and has been one of Hamburg’s landmarks ever since. However, at almost 50 years old now, it is getting on in years and the maintenance costs are getting higher and higher. Therefore, the Hamburg Senate plans to replace the bridge with a tunnel by 2032.
The model was reproduced as accurately as possible and consists of the pylons, the road segments, 4000 segments of the bridge railings and more than 8000 guard rails.
