Menwith Hill VFR Reporting Point, RAF Station Harrogate, near to Leeds/Bradford Airport (EGNM) v1.0
RAF Menwith Hill is a Royal Air Force station near Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England, which provides communications and intelligence support services to the United Kingdom and the United States. The site contains an extensive satellite ground station and is a communications intercept and missile warning site. It has been described as the largest electronic monitoring station in the world.
Menwith Hill is also a VFR reporting point and is located 10nm North of Leeds/Bradford Airport (EGNM). It is easily recognisable for it’s distinctive white radomes, locally referred to as “The Golf Balls”.
As this is a highly secretive base I have kept the scenery details basic, with excpetion of the white radomes. All other buildings are default in-sim objects which I have hand placed into position. I have also added perimeter fencing and a POI marker – search for ‘menwith’
The LOD draw distance has been increased so “the golf balls” will be in sight for at least 10nm.
Compatability: This replaces the default scenery, but may clash with other VFR add-on’s if you have them installed.
