The Octagon is the new headquarters for the Egyptian Ministry of Defense, being a part of a much larger initiative of moving all governmental offices to the New Administrative Capital. The establishment of the new headquarters aims to be the largest in the Middle East, located in the New Capital, Greater Cairo. (wiki page)

I did this project to be used in a group flight around Cairo. The modeling is not 100% accurate, but I tried to make the building complex recognisable as best I could.

As the Bing imagery is very outdated, I included some imagery (attribution: Esri, NASA, NGA, USGS | Esri, HERE, Garmin, METI/NASA, USGS | Maxar). The imagery is pretty big (1GB). Let’s hope Microsoft will update teir own imagery soon…
