Thompson Pass, Alaska v1.0
“The snowiest place in Alaska” – Thompson Pass is a year-round challenge for all pilots. The pass is only a few miles east of Valdez, Alaska, and despite its close proximity to the Pacific, the airstrip sits at around 2,600+ feet with steep terrain closeby. Scrub and low brush mostly prevails as the climate is harsh and dynamic with each season.
ICAO: K55
This scenery contains my first custom objects, removal and replacment of the default runway to match the real strip, terrain and road touchups for the entire valley and strip, as well as objects placed throughout the entire pass. Like the actual pass, you’ll also see a lot of light posts and yellow markers to guide drivers through the snowy pass and can lead you to the airstrip, and can serve as reference points if the visibility deteriorates.

Known bugs:
-The game says the runway is concrete despite it being changed. Despite this bug, the runway now acts as gravel.
– Deep terrain hole on other side of mountains north of the pass at quarry to get smoothed out in update.
