A known issue is when selecting liveries with the regular aircraft selector, the sim can crash or sometimes the the livery will not appear and a blank plane will show.
Solution to prevent the sim from crashing and/or livery not appearing is to select the livery with the aircraft selector in developer mode. (settings > advanced options > switch developer mode to on)
